Mrs. Frieda Schneider Strek, 82, of 504 Merwin Road, Raleigh, died Friday, January 13, 2016 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh.

Mrs. Strek was formerly of Fayetteville.

Frieda was born near Miesbach, in Bavaria, Germany, on March 4, 1934.  She was an accomplished seamstress and artist, and loved nature, animals, and her family.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Jan J. Strek (US Army, Ret.). 

Graveside funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 20, 2017 at the Cumberland Memorial Gardens & Mausoleum on Raeford Road  in Fayetteville.

She is survived by her daughter, Evelyn Stahling, spouse Jim and  grandsons, Eric and Matthew Stahling, of Raleigh and her son, Harry and grandsons,Felix and Nikolai Strek, of Wiesbaden, Germany.
