Andrew Alexander " Sherman" Murphy, Sr., 79, of 6200 Twiggs Court, Hope Mills, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2019 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, July 26, 2019 at 11am at Abney Chapel SDA Church in Fayetteville. Burial will follow in Snow Hill Church Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Georgia Mae Murphy of the home. Children, Debra Melchoir and Nurecine Howard both of Hope Mills and Andrew Murphy, Jr.and David Lee Murphy both of Fayetteville. A sister, Mildred Williams of Fayetteville., along with seventeen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.

A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from5-7pm.
