Melanie V. Garcia, 57, of 6015 Four Townes Lane, Raleigh, formerly of Fayetteville, died Monday, February 04, 2019 at her home.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday at 1:30pm at Jesus Peace Ministries in Fayetteville with Dr. James McGrady officiating. Burial will be Monday at 10am at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, Fort Bragg with full honors.

Mrs. Garcia was an administrative assistant with the federal government and retired Army SFC.

She is survived by a son, Lawrence Garcia, II of Fayetteville. Mother, Dorothy Kornegay of Raleigh. Sisters, Stephanie Bell of Raleigh, Elizabeth Bynum of Greensboro and Rosetta Kornegay of New Bern. Brothers, Jerry Kornegay and Jesse Kornegay both of Washington, DC, Marshall Kornegay of Myrtle Beach, SC, Maurice Kornegay of Raleigh and Pernell Kornegay of Philadelphia, PA along with a grandchild.

A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 2-4pm.
