Pearl Vivian Felder of Fayetteville, North Carolina, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on
September 9th, 2018.
She was a long time active member of the Division Memorial Chapel for
over 30 years. She was a faithful servant who loved the Lord and her church family.
Professionally she worked for the federal government for over 23 years. Her last job was as a
purchasing agent with the Veterans Affairs Administration.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gus Townes, and her mother, Robbie Townes, and
by brother, Samuel Townes.
She was a devoted wife to John L. Felder Sr and mother to her (4) children: John Jr. of Miami
Beach FL, Michael Felder of Matthews, NC (Christina), Jeffrey Felder of Colorado Springs, CO
(Carole), and Renee Hunte of Little Rock, AR (Anthony), and step-son Andre Stembridge of
Warner Robbins GA.
She is survived by 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Also surviving are her sisters Hazel Dalton of Sequine TX (Carroll), Jacquelin McGee of Hayti,
MO, and her brothers Gus Jr. of Birmingham AL (Gale), George Townes of Chicago IL (Linda),
and Bobby Townes of Springfield IL (Curtis). She is also survived by a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Pearl was a beautiful, caring, kind, patient, and understanding friend and was always willing to
help others. Her family and friends describe her as wonderful and compassionate, with a loving
personality. She was a good wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.
She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She had a great sense of humor and was fun to be around. She was an avid sports fan and
loved to watch sports. She a diehard Carolina fan and her favorite basketball player was
Michael Jordan. Her favorite football player was Julius Peppers, and her favorite NASCAR
driver was Jeff Gordon.
