Albert Jerome King

Albert Jerome King, 63, formerly of Fayetteville, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026 in Toledo, Ohio.

Mr. Albert Jerome (Billy) King was born to Albert Wilson Smith and Carlean King Davis on December 6, 1962, in Fayetteville, North Carolina.  He was proudly raised by his loving stepfather Josephus Davis, his mother (all who proceeded him in death), and a host of Uncles and Aunties.      

    Albert was a member of Shady Grove Freewill Baptist Church (Spring Lake N.C).  He attended College Lakes Elementary, Pine Forest Junior High, and is a proud graduate of Pine Forest Senior High (Mighty Trojans), where he excelled in Athletics.  He furthered his education by attending Fayetteville Technical Institute, Durham Technical Institute, North Carolina Central University, and North Carolina Agricultural & Technical University, where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, he was a proud AGGIE.  He attended Graduate level courses at University of Toledo and was a member of the National Honor Society.  He was a stickler for education, a Master Mathematician, an Instructor at the College level, and a Master Automotive Technician (Mechanical and Restoration).  Additionally, he worked for Fortune 500 companies such as General Motors, Delphi and Hitachi, where he worked in engineering design and assembly.  He was also involved in local politics.          

 With beautiful memories, Albert leaves to cherish a host of family members who he loved dearly; his loving son, Hakim who is a proud member of our Armed Forces, brothers and sisters; Roderick (Laura), Gwen (John), Sandra, Reginald(Beverly), Carlisha (Feltus), Sherwin, Cherrious, Albert aka Duna, John and a special cousin Terry Elliott; a loving Uncle, Herbert Davis (Grace), his aunt Audry Anderson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and a very special friend Tirzah and her family of Ohio.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, March 23,2026 at 1pm at Herring Funeral Care & Cremations Chapel. Burial will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park.

A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 12-1pm, prior to the service.
