Alma Mae Bell Haywood, age 90, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 3, 2025 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Bridgeport, CT.
She was born on June 18, 1934 in Fayetteville, North Carolina to Jasper Bell and Annie Mae Jones Bell. Mrs. Haywood was predeceased by her husband Londell Haywood. She retired from Electrolux after numerous years of service. She valued family, loyalty, honesty, compassion, patience and goodwill toward all who knew and loved her. She was rooted and grounded in her faith and love for God.
Her memory will be treasured by two daughters; Diane Miller and husband Curtis Miller and Belinda Roundtree and husband James Roundtree, Sr., her son: Philip Haywood and a host of adored grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two sons: Bennett G. Haywood and Kenneth Haywood, three sisters; Ruth Bell, Lois Fuller and Quessie Carmichael and six brothers; Elway Bell, Claude Bell, Hub Bell, Bobby Bell, Charlie Bell and Milton Bell,
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025 from 10:00AM - 11:00AM followed by a service of celebration at 11:00AM at Faith Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 29 Grove St., Stamford, CT., Rev. Dr. Joseph G. Ford officiant. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport, CT.
