Cornelius W. Douglas was born on January 1, 1956, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Cecilia Brischo and Frank Douglas. He passed away on June 10, 2025, in Fayetteville, NC.
Cornelius proudly served 20 years in the United States Army and was a decorated soldier who served in Desert Storm, Ft. Carson (CO), South Korea, Germany, Ft. Irwin (CA), and Ft. Benning (GA), achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant
Mr. Douglas is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Un Cha Douglas; his eldest son, MSG Charles Douglas, and his wife Jasmine, along with their sons, Charles Ian and Ethan Douglas, of Columbia, SC; and his youngest son, David Douglas, and his children, Cecilia Uni and Dav’ree Douglas, of Las Vegas, NV.
He is also survived by his sisters, Elizabeth Briggette Douglas, Crisitite Wilson, Annette D Sam (all of New Orleans, LA) and Brenda Douglas (of Atlanta, GA), as well as his brothers, Rosenthal George, Michael Douglas, and Anthony Douglas (all of New Orleans, LA).
Cornelius is preceded in death by his parents Frank Douglas and Cecilia Brischo, two brothers Charles Brischo and Joseph Douglas and two sisters, Audrey Johnson and Rose Mary George.
A memorial service will be held at a future date in New Orleans, LA. In lieu of flowers, you may send donations to the Wounded Warrior Project.
