Edwin Deforest Newsome, 81, of 109 Tennessee Drive, Fayetteville passed away on Friday, June 12, 2020. 

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 12 noon at Cape Fear Conference B Headquarters in Raeford. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Church Cemetery in Fayetteville.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvestene Newsome of the home. Daughters, Pamela Newsome of Greenville, Deborah Newsome of Ayden And Teresa Speight (Victory) of GA. Sons, Elgin Newsome of Fayetteville and  Anthony Newsome of Greenville. Stepsons, Daimen McBride, Leon McBride (Rochelle) and Brandon McBride, all of Columbia. SC, and Angelo Smith of Fayetteville. A sister, Aronual Diggs (Bobby) of Wilson. Brothers, J.D. Newsome of Wilson and W.C. Newsome (Betty) of Goldsboro, along with fourteen grandchildren, including two grandchildren that were raised in the home, Desrean Smith andd Lattela Newsome.

A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 5-7pm.
