Emma Williams Obituary

Emma Margaret Williams, 70, of Fayetteville passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

No services will be held.

Born to the late Stacy Williams , Sr. and the late Ollie Mae Williams June 12, 1951 in Cumberland County, North Carolina. She was the fifth child. Her siblings, Patricia Jones, Eula Hodges(deceased), Stacy W. Williams, Jr.(deceased), Joyce Conway, and Cecilia Gray.

Emma is survived by one son, Travis Jermaine Williams and two grandchildren, Jordan (grandson Messiah) and Caleb. Travis is married to Shelethia Williams who spent many years giving care to her mother-in-law, Emma after she was unable to care for herself. She would run errands without complaint and so much more.

She worked in various school district in North Carolina and South Carolina over the past twenty years, retiring at the age of 62. She was a graduate of Seventy First High School in 1969. She went on to Clinton Junior College in South Carolina with a Liberal Arts degree in 1971 followed by a BS degree, Psychology, 1978. She continued with her Masters of Arts, SLD/BEH from Fayetteville State University, 1995.

Emma will be missed by those who loved her. Emma did not want flowers or any gathering when she passed. She knew she must pray for herself and there is nothing other humans could do for her but to let her go to her rest. For those who shared her life, you have those memories.

Emma's religious affiliation was with Willis Creek AME Zion Church off Hwy 87, Fayetteville, North Carolina  under the leadership of Pastor Gaddy. Her friend, Beverly Pone stayed in touch with her during her illness. The family thank you all for your support
