Everest Hiawatha Thompson

Everest Thompson, 58, of 933 Glen Reilly Drive, Fayetteville, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2025 at his home.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at 10:30am at Herring Funeral Care & Cremations Chapel. Burial will follow at 12 noon at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, Fort Bragg with honors.

He is survived by his wife, Varonna Thompson of the home. Daughters, Desiree Brown of Germany, Sonea Thompson of WV and Tinikka Rich of Fayetteville. A son, Brandon Rich of Fayetteville. His mother, Carolyn Barker of Memphis, TN; brother, Gaius Thompson of Memphis, TN; sisters, Kana Barker, Denean Glass and Chicola Ellis, all of Memphis, TN, along with eight grandchildren.

A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 from 9am- 10:30am, prior to the service.
