Gerdine Stevens, 95, of Fayetteville, passed away on Thursday, May 01, 2025 at her home.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at 11am at Herring Funeral Care & Cremations Chapel. Burial will be in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, Fort Bragg.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Arthur Stevens, Sr. of the home. A son, Charles Arthur Stevens, Jr. Daughters, Chardene Ruth Sumlin of TX, Regena Stevens-Ratchford and Diane Stevens Ford both of MD and Debbie Stevens-Wright of MA. Sisters, Doris Murphy and Myrtle Carlton, both of NC; a brother, Nathaniel Carlton of VA, along with ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 from 5-7pm.
The Family is requesting, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Samuel Council Chapter 555th PIA that will be used to establish a scholarship in the Memory of Trooper Gerdine Stevens.
