James Sample, Sr.

James Sample, Sr., 85, of Spring Lake, passed away on Wednesday, July 01, 2026 at UNC Southeastern Hospital in Lumberton.

Graveside services will be conducted on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at 11am at Riverview Memorial Gardens in Spring Lake.

He is survived by a son, James Sample, Jr. (Sharon) of Newport News, VA; daughters, Isabelle Parker (James) and Idena Sample, both of Spring Lake. A sister, Eva Pitts of Onancock, VA; a brother, William Sample of NJ, along with fifteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.

A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 9am-10:30am, prior to the graveside.
