Margaret Scott

Margaret Ashley Scott, 87, of Fayetteville passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at Autumn Care in Raeford.

She was born December 25, 1935 in Augusta, GA to Corrine Evans and Terry Evans, Sr.. She was educated in the Augusta, GA school system before relocating to Jersey City, NJ in her early years,

As a teenager, Margaret met and fell in love with Allen Scott. After they wed, she welcomed 2 children, Gloria Jean and Mary. She loved her girls.

Margaret had a profound love for children. She loved bouncing babies on their feet while singing "jump, baby jump". She also loved taking care of others, even in their last days. She loved to cook and one of her favorite things was smoked neck bones. She adored her grandchildren, and she had many. There is Allen, Gloria (Boobie), Paul, Jr, Melissa, Patrina, Marianne, and LeAnthony. She also had 20 great grandchildren, as well as 17 great-great grandchildren.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Corrine and Terry Evans; her husband, Allen Scott; her brothers, Roosevelt Evans and

Terry Evans, Jr.; her sister, Mary Furse; her daughter, Mary Felts, and two of her grandchildren; Paul Felts, Jr., and Millicent Johnson.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory, her daughter; Gloria Jean, her grandchildren Allen, Gloria, Patrina, Marianne, and LeAnthony; 20 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great grandchildren; and three special bonus grandchildren that she loved since birth, Symone, Timothy Jr., and Samira. She also leaves behind a special goddaughter, Joy.

A viewing will be held at Herring Funeral Care & Cremations Chapel on Friday, March 31, 2023 from 1-3pm.
