Melvin Jennings, 66, of 4418 Rose Meadow Drive, Hope Mills passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2020.
Graveside services will be conducted on Monday at 2pm at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery at Fort Bragg.
Melvin Jennings, born August 24, 1953, was born to Clifford and Alberta Jennings in Chicago, Illinois. He was the first born of three children, a sister, LaJuan Hicks, and a brother, Lyndon Jennings. He was raised in Mississippi and on July 10, 1976 he married Jonnie Mae Jennings. Together they had 5 children, Johnathon L Walker, Dexter L Walker, Filicia Robinson, Pamela Hawkins, and Melvin L Jennings. He served in the Military as a medic and was honorably discharged with the rank E5. After being discharged, he worked in the VA as a nurse, where he retired. After retiring he went back to enjoy life in Mississippi until he was called to live with his daughter Pam. He praised at New Generation of Faith Ministries and had a strong relationship with God. Melvin Jennings was a giving and loving person. He loved the Lord and he loved his family. He is survived by his wife, his siblings, his 5 children, his 13 grandchildren and his 3 great grands. We humbly release him to walk with the Lord.
He is survived by his wife, Jonnie Mae Jennings. Children, Jonathan Walker and Filicia Robinson both of GA, Dexter Walker of MS, Pamela Hawkins of Hope Mills and Melvin L. Jennings of CO. A sister, Laquan Hicks and a brother, Lyndon Jennings both of MS.
A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 12 noon until 1:30pm
