Mrs. Loney Ruth (Cole) Atwater

Mrs. Loney Atwater, 93, of 275 Lick Creek Drive, Linden, passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at Wickshire Creeks Crossing in Raeford.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, January 08, 2026 at 10:30am at Herring Funeral Care & Cremations Chapel. Burial will follow in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, Fort Bragg at 12 noon.

She is survived by her sons, Harold Atwater, Jr. of Elizabeth, CO, Rickey Atwater of Tucson, AZ, Gregory Atwater of Knob Nobster, MO and Peter Atwater of Randallstown, MD. Daughters, Paula Goode of Hampton, VA, Patty Carson of Rome, GA and Jennifer Nesbitt of Linden along with fourteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 07, 2026 from 5-7pm.
