Kevin A. Herring

GM, Licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer

Kevin A. Herring was born and raised in Wade, North Carolina and knew at an early age what his purpose in life was. He joined Wesley Chapel AME Zion Church when he was six years old. His grandmother, Ella Mae Adams Herring, taught him to play the piano and he began playing for the junior choir. As a student at Cape Fear High School, Kevin was active in student government. Kevin went to mortuary school at American Academy McAllister's Institute of Funeral Services in New York in 1979. Upon returning to North Carolina Kevin quickly became known for his embalming technique and the care and concern he shows toward the families he serves. Feeling the need for representation in his community Kevin successfully ran for Wade Town Commissioner in 1997-1999. After serving his term Kevin relocated to Goldsboro and managed one of the leading funeral establishments in Eastern North Carolina. His dream was to open his own funeral home which brings us to the present. "I feel blessed and honored to have the opportunity to serve my community and provide quality service to the families we serve at Herring Funeral Care & Cremations." Sharon A. Worrell

CEO, Licensed Funeral Director

Sharon (Ferguson) Worrell grew up in Fayetteville and graduated from Reid Ross High School in 1981. She then went on to graduate from Fayetteville State University (FSU) in 1985 with a degree in Business Administration. She went on to receive her MBA from Nova University in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

She married Michael A. Worrell in 1990 and is returning home to Fayetteville after being away for the past 21 years.

Sharon will lead the aftercare program at Herring Funeral Care & Cremations which is a program to assist our families during their transition. Our aim is to set the precedent of implementing a process of continued care that is designed to fulfill the needs and exceed the expectations of the families we serve.
