SFC Robert Jerome Lanier (Army Retired), 62, of 1215 Wilderness Drive, Spring Lake, died Friday, February 24, 2017 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, March 03, 2017 at 10:30am at Herring Funeral Care & Cremations Chapel with Bishop Northern Lee Lanier officiating. Burial will follow in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery at Ft. Bragg with full military honors.

He is survived by his fiancé, Karey Ore of Spring Lake;  sons,  Mar'vese Lanier of Prince George, Va and Da'cel Torres of Charlotte. Stepsons, Brandon and James Ore, III of Hampton, Ga; stepdaughters, Lesl Payne of Augusta, Ga and Kelli Ore of Hampton, Ga. Brothers, Willie Moore of Williamston and Jessie Moore of the Bronx, NY. Sisters, Mary Lanier of the Bronx and Lucille Moore of Williamston. A granddaughter also survives.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, March 02, 2017 from 4-7pm at the funeral home.
